Vivian “Lurene” Mangual, a beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 83. Lurene was born on February 9, 1941, in Mitchell County, Pelham, Georgia, to the late Burnett C. and Mary Eloise Brooks Stephens.
Lurene graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1958. A devoted military wife, Lurene spent many years traveling with her husband, Jorg A. Mangual, Sr., whom she married and shared a loving life with until his passing. A longtime member of Central Baptist Church, Lurene was dedicated to her faith and family. She cherished time with her loved ones and was particularly devoted to her children.
In addition to her family and faith, Lurene enjoyed hobbies such as knitting and bowling, finding joy in these activities throughout her life. She retired as an administrative assistant at the hospital on Robins Air Force Base.
In addition to her parents, Lurene was preceded in death by her husband, Jorge A. Mangual, Sr., and her son, John Mangual.
Her memory will be cherished by her son, Jorge “Tony” Mangual, Jr. of Warner Robins, and her dear sister-in-law, Norma Fritz (Bill).
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at McCullough Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Lurene will be laid to rest in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 3861-3801 Mt Zion Church Rd, Camilla, GA 31730, at 3:00 p.m.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Vivian “Lurene” Mangual to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, New York 10306.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/@McCulloughFuneralHome via the McCullough Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
