Vivian Moose Obituary

Vivian Williams Moose, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 19, 2025. A devoted educator, woman of faith, and beloved matriarch, Vivian leaves behind a legacy of service and love.

Born in Pineville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Hoyle Williams and Rebeca Young Williams. Vivian spent her youth in Lancaster, South Carolina, but spent the majority of her adult life in Charlotte, North Carolina, a city she truly called home.

Vivian dedicated her professional life to the students of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System, where she served as a retired Exceptional Children (EC) teacher. Her passion for learning led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Sacred Heart College in Belmont, NC, followed by a Master's Degree from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC.

A woman of deep and active faith, Vivian was a longtime member and dedicated volunteer at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed attending Forest Hills Church, where she drew great inspiration from the teachings of David Chadwick. Vivian simply loved people and cherished her church families dearly.

In July 2021, Vivian moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia, to be closer to her family. Even while facing health challenges, her spirit of service remained; she attended Compassion Christian Church in Savannah and volunteered her time helping with the distribution of food and clothing to those in need within the Savannah community.

Vivian was preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche Williams Darnell and Barbara Williams "Ann" Jeffers.

She is survived by her sister, Rebekah Williams Metcalf; her son, Ralph Moose; and her daughter, Beth Moose. She was the proud grandmother of Donna Hall Hollingsworth, Jason Moose, Dylan Techton, and Cody Moose; and a loving great-grandmother to Fitz Hollingsworth, Ryker Hollingsworth, Kaylei Wills, Kobain Moose, Gaige Hollingsworth, Delilah Techton, Scarlett Techton, and Alice Moose.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Vivian's memory to the American Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will be planned by the family at a later date.

Vivian Moose was such a beautiful person -inside and out. She would come into the Business Mail Entry Unit at USPS and bring in her church mailings. She was always so pleasant, and such a fantastic person. I'm so sorry for the families loss.
Vivian, I will always love and remember you!

It is never easy to face the loss of someone who made the world a much brighter and better place to live in. Words cannot express how much Aunt Vivian will be missed. Her unwavering strength, immense love for others, along with her incredible courage through her health struggles leave a lasting mark on everyone's heart. She is one who showed incredible acts of kindness and maintained a positive outlook on life. Her smile brought light into the world and her work to help those in need leave us with cherished memories of her unselfishness, compassion and reassurance during trying times. Aunt Vivian's inspiration will live on through the many hearts of her students and their families, church members and friends, but on a more personal level, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will carry on her legacy of love as mentors to others. Wishing you all comfort and peace as you reflect upon the life of Aunt Vivian.
I pray that her beautiful spirit remains close as you honor her memory.
