Vivienne Michele Samperio, lovingly known as Vivi, age 10, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior during the Hour of Divine Mercy, following ten days in the intensive care unit after a tragic accident that also claimed the lives of her beloved father and sister.
Vivienne means "full of life," and from the very beginning, she lived up to her name. Even before she was born, she moved so much in her mother's womb that it was clear she was born to be a dancer. Vivi was indeed full of life from the earliest moments. She loved to dance and spent many joyful hours practicing ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, and gymnastics. She was naturally graceful and flexible, with an intuitive understanding of rhythm and music. She had a gift for picking up dance moves quickly and would practice with focus and determination until she mastered them.
Vivi was also deeply artistic and imaginative. She loved creating with whatever she could find and had a remarkable ability to see beauty and purpose in even the smallest scraps of paper or plastic. She would collect little things that others might overlook and transform them into crafts, building entire worlds for her dolls and toys using household items and her endless creativity. She was resourceful, focused, and always driven to complete her artistic visions.
She was sweet and affectionate, always eager to reach out and hug those she loved. Vivi loved deeply and had a sensitive, compassionate heart. She felt the pain of others and wanted to ease it with kindness. She was thoughtful and generous, often making cards and gifts to lift the spirits of family and friends. She cherished one-on-one time with each of her parents, making every shared moment feel special.
Vivi attended Catholic school from preschool through fourth grade and participated in the life of the Church with her family. She was baptized as an infant, received her First Holy Communion in second grade, and was Confirmed under exigent circumstances in the hospital. Her faith was recognized by her school community, where she was recently honored with the Christian Witness Award.
Vivi was a bright and joyful child. She reached milestones early as a baby and excelled in school, consistently earning honor roll. She had a sharp mind and a photographic memory, often winning memory games with ease. She was funny and playful, loved telling jokes, playing dress-up, and filling her room with her large collection of stuffed animals. She had a great capacity for joy and loved chips, pandas, claw machines, and the simple moments shared with those she loved. She was a dreamer and a daydreamer, full of wonder and hope.
Vivi is survived by her mother, Ann Samperio; her brothers, Alexander and Gabriel; her maternal grandparents, Thom and Lorraine Marra; her paternal grandparents, Alberto Ramirez and Laura Samperio; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Alberto Ramirez Samperio, and her cherished sister, Isabella Samperio Rios.
Though Vivi's time on earth was far too short, her soul now rests in the eternal peace and joy of Heaven. Her family finds comfort in the promise of Christ's resurrection and the hope that they will one day be reunited with her in the presence of God. Until that day, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
