Volera Kirkpatrick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vinyard Funeral Home - Floresville on Sep. 26, 2025.
Volera Kirkpatrick, age 100, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, TX on August 15,
2025.

Born on December 29, 1924, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James and Florence Martin,
Volera lived a long and full life marked by faith, family, and service.

She was married to the love of her life, John Edgar Kirkpatrick of Fort Worth, for 70
years until his passing. Together, they raised two children, Ed Kirkpatrick (Paula) and
Ruth Cawthon (Michael), and were blessed with eight grandchildren: Jon Kirkpatrick,
Daria Fortunre, Becky Blanco, Brent Bradley, Jim Cawthon, Melanie Cawthon, Erica
Ybarra, and Chris Cawthon. She had numerous nieces, nephews, and great-
grandchildren that she adored dearly.

Volera served faithfully as the music secretary at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort
Worth for over 30 years. She was deeply devoted to her church community and
especially loved singing in the PraiSingers Senior Choir and the Adult Sanctuary Choir.
Her love for music, fellowship, and worship left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

In her later years, Volera also found great joy in ceramics, sharing her creativity and
laughter with close friends through countless hours spent crafting and creating. She
loved gifting her pieces to those that she cared about.

Volera will be remembered for her kind heart, steadfast faith, and gentle spirit. Volera's
life was a song of praise – faithful, beautiful, and full of joy. She leaves behind a legacy
of love, music, and faithfulness that continues to inspire all who knew her.
