W. Todd Bather

Wendell Todd Bather of Oscoda, Michigan passed away unexpectedly at home on November 4, 2025.
Todd was born in Jackson, Michigan on April 27, 1960. He and his siblings, brother Scott and sister, Tracey, grew up on the shores of St. Clair, Michigan where his love of boating and fishing began. His love of Michigan football began in the side yard near the barn.
As a young man, Todd attended St. Clair High School and their Culinary School. His careers included: construction, cook, charter fishing, resort owner/operator and licensed real estate broker. Todd and his wife are partners at Target Real Estate Company in Tawas.
Todd was married to his lovely wife of 36 years, Julie A. Bather. The two Michiganders met in Florida. According to her, "Todd belonged to the outdoors." Todd spent years on the lakes and rivers of Michigan, along the coastline of California and in the waves of the Atlantic. Todd hunted with friends, took family members boating and enjoyed chartering fishing trips.
Todd is preceded in death by his parents, Norm and Carol Bather, and Susan and Raymond Drake, brother-in-law Bob Potter, sister-in-law Francine Groleau, brother-in-law Dan Groleau, brother-in-law Frank Potter.
Todd's was part of a tight-knit family including his brother, Scott and (SIL) Bonnie Bather, niece Elizabeth, nephew Daniel; Tracey Shamma (BIL Rick Shamma), nieces Holly and Lindsay; SIL Linda Potter, nephews and niece Rob, Geoff and Rebecca; nephew Brandon, nieces Jennifer and Carrie, plus their spouses. Todd was the beloved uncle to three generations of kids who saw him at the field for their games, shows, meets, and concerts. He was always cheering for them and saw success within their reach.
We will miss hearing about Todd's hunt or his latest catch. We will miss his humor, his care and thoughtfulness and the way he yelled, "Watch out for the other guy!" as we pull out of his driveway.
The family will welcome friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM at the Holiday Inn Express in Oscoda, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to: The American Lung Association.
