W. John Whitehouse passed away at the age of 83 on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in the care of Sinking Spring Rehab. Born in Pottsville on November 3, 1940, Jack was the son of the late Katharine Christine (Green) and the late Clarence Asa Whitehouse.
Jack attended Pottsville High School and graduated from Phillips Andover Academy in Andover, Massachusetts where he was Captain of the basketball team. He later graduated from Princeton University in 1962 with a B.A. in Economics/Finance and was Captain of the baseball team.
Jack enjoyed an awesome career including playing Professional Baseball with the Detroit Tigers and working for a brokerage firm in Allentown. He worked for IBM in Reading, and from 1970-1977 he was Founder and Owner of Advanced Cybernetics in Reading. In 1978-1990 he was Founder and Owner of Dimensions, an international needlecraft company based in Reading. In 1991, he owned the LBH Group, a women's tennis and golf apparel company. Later in 1998 he created a new brand, Judy P Apparel, a high end women's apparel company, which he sold in 2023 when he finally retired.
He was the loving husband of Colleen Whitehouse (Arentz) who he married on June 2, 1991. They share two boys, Sean C. Whitehouse and Brett A. Whitehouse. Jack also has two daughters, Michele Folk, married to Dan Folk, and Amy Kaunert, married to Bobby Kaunert. He has five grandchildren, Robert, Ryan and Riley Folk, Hailey Kaunert, and Olivia Morrissette, and one great grandchild, April Folk.
Jack was a pilot and loved to fly. He also loved to ski and play tennis. He coached baseball and basketball and loved to watch his children play all sports. He loved his four golden retrievers, Chamois, Putty, Chaos, and now Simba, taking them for daily long walks around the pond.
As his family arrived home after his passing, they saw a giant rainbow in the sky over their land telling us he got there.
A memorial service will be held at the Whitehouse home at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508, or online at berksarl.org.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.

Jack was more than a friend, but a partner and mentor. I met Jack in 1999 and we traveled a wonderful road together in business and friendship. We build a revolutionary stock trading system, developed ski homes in Colorado, did business on chair lifts, eat well together and laughed a lot! Jack was a gentleman in every sense and an amazing friend, partner, leader and role model. I learned a great deal and will never forget our wonderful years together. Truly an exceptional man!

My condolences go out to Jack´s family. I knew Jack when he started Dimensions in Reading. I was his Commercial Lending Officer with the American Bank. He was quite the entrepreneur along with his partners. I was privileged to work with Jack on Dimension´s banking needs and always enjoyed his wisdom and competitive spirit. Jack, may you rest in peace Rick Weber
