Waldemar Doerk

Waldemar Doerk, 91, of Odenton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025,
surrounded by loved ones.
Born on December 15, 1933, in Nikolaev, Ukraine, Waldemar was a man of great skill,
creativity, and warmth. A talented lithographer by trade and a gifted woodworker by
passion, he dedicated his life to craftsmanship and artistry. His beautifully handcrafted
fishing rods were not only a testament to his precision and patience but also a reflection
of his deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors.
Beyond his work, Waldemar was known for his captivating storytelling. Whether
sharing memories, wisdom, or a tale that sparked laughter, he had a way of drawing
people in and making every conversation unforgettable. His kindness, curiosity, and wit
left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Waldemar is survived by his three sons, Brian (Sharon), Darin (Carolyn), and Michael
(Lisa); his two brothers, Adolph (Evelyn) and Karl (Belinda); his seven
grandchildren: and his two great-grandchildren-all of whom will forever cherish his
love, wisdom, and the many lessons he imparted. He was preceded in death by his
beloved wife, Carole, who passed away in 2000, and their son, Paul, who passed away
in 2010.
In accordance with his wishes, Waldemar will be cremated, and his family will honor his
memory privately. Those who wish to pay tribute to his life are encouraged to reflect on
the stories he shared, the craftsmanship he left behind, and the joy he brought to those
around him.
His legacy of artistry, storytelling, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew
him.
