Waldo C. Sigley Jr. (Calvin) of Niles passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center, Cleveland, OH. He was 61 years old. Calvin was born in Warren on March 7, 1963, the son of the late Waldo C. and Geneva Yount Sigley Sr.
Calvin was a 1983 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School.
He retired in 2021 after 32 years of dedicated service to the Weathersfield Township Fire Department. He was passionate about his time with the fire department. Calvin was also employed as a custodian for 30 years at Mineral Ridge School Systems. Following his retirement, Calvin drove a truck for P&S Trucking. In his spare time, he loved to spend time with granddaughter Scarlett. He loved to work in the garden, tinker on anything and everything including woodworking. He grew a passion for model trains and baking in the last few years.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Verner Sigley, whom he married May 11, 1991; a son, Geoffrey (Anna) Sigley of Cortland; Granddaughter Scarlett Jade Sigley, a stepdaughter, Melissa (Scott) Snyder of Fort Wayne, IN; a stepson, Matthew (Kelly) Smith of Cortland, 8 step grandchildren; 3 sisters, Patty Chmelik, Veronica McCurdy, and Loretta Rackich; 2 brothers, Steve and Mark Sigley.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Sigley.
