Wallace "Wally" Glen Alexander III passed away at his home on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
He was born in Grove City, PA, the son of the late Wallace Glen Alexander Jr. and his surviving mother, Bonnie Bolan (Chuck).
Throughout his life, Wally was widely known throughout Erie County as a skilled brick, block, and stone builder. He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics, and New York Yankees. Known for his strong work ethic and ability to tackle nearly any task, Wally lived a full life enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, biking, hiking, playing horseshoes and darts, bowling, golfing, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He enjoyed spending time at Pymatuning State Park, camping and fishing from dusk until dawn in the pontoon boat, Johnny boat, or canoe. Wally especially loved Sedona, Arizona, where there wasn't a mountain he didn't hike. He was well known for hosting large annual work parties at his home and for dedicating his weekends to helping others with home improvement projects.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Butterbaugh, and his beloved German Shepherds; Dakota, Moses, and Charlie; Bamma, his Labrador; and Ricky the raccoon.
He will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife, Deborah (Sisinni) Alexander; his father's second wife, Irene; four sisters, Sherri Lemak (John), Valerie Rudolph (Tom), Rhonda DiPofi (Dave), and Bonnie Hogland (Randy); brothers, Dale Alexander (Kim), Eric Messenger, Jared Alexander (Robyn), Erich Alexander (Sierra), Chris Fuller, and Craig King (Cindy); and his lifelong friend, Johnny. Additionally, numerous close cousins, second and third cousins; many close nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews; his loyal German Shepherd, Pocket; and countless friends from childhood to the present day.
There never were the proper words nor actions to formally express Wally's heartfelt gratitude to his 4 kidney transplant donors: his mother, Bonnie; his brother, Dale; his sister, Rhonda; and his brother, Craig.
Wally wished to extend a special acknowledgment to everyone at the Cleveland Clinic for their outstanding care and compassion over forty-three years of extensive medical treatment. He was affectionately known by everyone he ever worked with as their favorite "PITA."
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wally's name may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Transplant Center, P.O. Box 931517, Cleveland, OH 44193-1655, or online at https://my.clevelandclinic.org/giving.
Per the family's request, services will be held privately.

Wally came to visit us when we had our daughter. I'll never forget how he held and looked at her with such a huge understanding of love and life. I didn't know him well but that memory of him stuck with me for 26 yrs and counting. You can just tell he was a special soul. Prayers to all who love him.

Wally was one of my first friends when we went to kindergarten. We stayed friends ever since and when we had disagreements we would call each other "best enemies", LOL, then we would patch it up and were friends again and always. I will miss you my friend, Godspeed!

Wally will always be remembered as my hero. He is the one who found me after the devastating Tornado that ripped through Albion in 1985. My husband Perry will also remember him as a hero too. For something so devastating, Wally made the story comical in his search for me. Thank you Wally, Love you You will be missed.

I have so many great memories of Wally and time we spent together. Great times on 25th Street where we spent a lot of time. Trips to Albion, Conneaut, Ohio and many a road trip into New York. Since our younger days we only saw each other on rare occasions and spoke on the phone occasionally. We always talked about our big accident on Peach St and laughed about our trip to the ER. Every time we spoke he was so proud of all his siblings and their families. He also said he was blessed to be married to his best friend. My condolences to all of you! Jeff
