Wallace Homer Pearce, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 87 in
Lakeland, Florida. Born on July 26, 1937, in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, Wallace was a man of integrity, intelligence, and passion, whose love for his family and community knew no bounds.
Wallace's life was one of dedication and hard work. For over 35 years, he was a respected auto mechanic at Firestone, where his expertise and commitment to excellence were well-known. His love for mechanics was only surpassed by his love for golf, a sport he enjoyed throughout his life, often sharing this pastime with friends and family.
A man of deep faith, Wallace was an active member of the Gibsonia Church of God. His rich voice was a familiar comfort to the congregation, especially when he sang during services, harmonizing with the piano played by his beloved wife, Barbara Lee Pearce. Their partnership in music was a testament to their loving marriage of 69 years, until Barbara's passing just a week before Wallace's own departure.
Wallace's legacy is carried on by his children: Jeffrey Kent Pearce, Kerry Todd Pearce, Lori Diane Pearce, and Jennifer Lyn Pearce. He was predeceased by his son, Wallace Pearce Jr. Wallace was a pillar of strength and wisdom for his family, including his siblings Janet, Arthur, Vivian, and Robert, with five others having predeceased him. His parents, Ezra and Mary Jane Pearce, instilled in him the values of love and family that he upheld throughout his life.
His grandchildren, Barbara Nichole Rayburn, John Wallace Pearce, Kerry Stephen Pearce, Joseph Tyler Pearce, and Brittany Marie Vittor, along with his ten great-grandchildren, will remember him for his stories, his laughter, and the lessons he shared. Wallace's presence at family gatherings was always a source of joy and warmth, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Wallace Homer Pearce lived a life that exemplified the virtues of love and passion. He approached every day with a sense of purpose and a desire to make a positive impact on those around him. His intelligence shone through in his problem-solving skills, both in his professional life and in the wisdom he imparted to his family.
As we bid farewell to Wallace, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will remain a comforting presence in the lives of all who knew him. Wallace Homer Pearce's story is one of enduring love and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
