Walter K. "Butch" Schneider Jr., age 74 of Kiel, WI, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, at his home on Kiel City View Farm.

Butch was born on May 8th, 1951, in Sheboygan, WI, son of the late Walter Sr. and Geraldine (Voelker) Schneider. Butch attended Saint's Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School and was a 1969 graduate of Kiel High School.

On July 14th, 1990, Butch married Deb Schnell at Saint's Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. Together they raised three children and farmed together until 2000 when he made the tough decision to sell his Registered Black and White Holstein herd. He later became employed with the Kiel Area School District until retiring in 2015. Butch took great pride in keeping the Schneider Homestead well-manicured; you could always find him mowing the lawn or tidying up the yard. He was always curious and loved to putz around. He was an avid DIY'er who could fix just about anything. Butch was also a man of solitude; never traveling too far from home. He spent many hours sitting under the shade tree admiring the view around him.

From a young age, Butch was fascinated with aircraft, fast cars, and motorcycles, which included a bike trip to Sturgis. He enjoyed attending local airshows, cutting firewood, volunteering at SS Peter and Paul Parish fish fry's, pancake breakfasts, and pie stand, volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, cookouts on his charcoal grill, lighting off fireworks, along with spending time with his family, friends, neighbors, and farm cats Smokey and Tux.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Deb; their three children, Rebecca (Tyler) Thielmann, Kiel, Brooke Schneider (Robert Nelson), New Holstein, and Brock Schneider, New Holstein. Daughters Lacey Austinson, Madison, and LeAnn (Eri) Austinson, Madison. His sisters and brother, Mary Lou Schneider, Sheboygan Falls, Donna (Steve) Harder, Fond du Lac, Linda (Steve) Bunnow, Plymouth, Kathy (Tom) Lefeber, Kiel, Margie (Mike) Hoban, Kiel, Randy (Vida) Schneider, Kiel and Pam (Robin) Ogea, New Holstein. Sister-in-law Kathy Schnell, Kiel, and brother-in-law Andy (Kim) Schnell, Kiel. He is further survived by aunt Betty (Don) Winkler St. Anna, Schneider sisters-in-law Ann Schneider, Sheboygan, Marlene Schneider, Sheboygan. Uncles Ken Voelker, New Holstein, Hilmar Jr. (Barb) Voelker, St. Anna; nieces; nephews; cousins; and dear friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter J. Schneider Sr. and Geraldine Schneider-Mathes; stepfather Earl Mathes; brother David Schneider; uncles and aunts Lambert (Anita & Rose) Schneider, Andrew Schneider, Robert (Petie) Schneider, Bernice (Clarence) Gruenke, Joseph (Audrey) Schneider, Anna Mae (Mike) Klapperich, Richard Schneider, Roger Schneider, Marie (Richard) Burkard, and Earl (Gloria) Voelker and other relatives.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Drs. Wride, Abbi, and Heraly and nurses Haley and Ashley at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Per Butch's wishes, cremation will take place; there will be no formal funeral service. To celebrate Butch's life, please light off fireworks in his memory.
