Walter H. Butcher Jr.

Walter H. Butcher, Jr., 87 of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born in Nicholasville, Kentucky on October 6th, 1938 to the late Walter Harrison Butcher and Virginia Blanche Bruner Butcher. He was the husband of Glenda Hamilton Butcher whom he married November 22, 2003. Walter worked for Mineola Horse farm for more than 30 years in addition to previous managerial positions at other horse farms. Walter enjoyed riding horses, gardening, growing flowers, and watching westerns.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Beatty, Donald, Eddie, Allen Ray, and Malcom Butcher.

Funeral Date and Time: Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 2 PM at McKnight Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Crab Orchard, KY 40419

Officiating Ministers Include: Bro. Stephen VanHook

Place of Burial: Crab Orchard Cemetery

Public Visitation will be from Tuesday, March 31st, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2 PM funeral start time at McKnight Funeral Home.

Pallbearers Include: Stephen Johnson, Erin Johnson, Chance Gray, Jennifer Irvin, Corey Irvin
