Walter Bond Carter, 96, widower of Gladys Carter and Ethel Riddle Carter, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall.
He was born in Anderson Co. on August 25, 1928 to the late Lester Carter and Mamie Gibson Carter. Walter was a member at First Baptist Church; retired from RECC where he worked for 38 years as a lineman leader. He was a US Army Veteran that served during WWII; member of the VFW and the Lions Club.
Mr. Carter is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Walter) Oliver, of Lawrenceburg; grandson, Cory Allen Kane, of Beaver Dam, KY; brother, Roy Carter; sister-in-law, Virginia Carter, both of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his wives and parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters and several brothers.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 1:00p.m. at Noon & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service.
