Walter Celmer, "Walt," Age 82 of Ormond Beach, FL passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025 at his home in Ormond Beach surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Funeral service will be held at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home on August 25, 2025 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610. Visitation will be held at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home on August 25, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton.

Walt was born in Ewing, NJ to John and Livia Alice Bocchile Celmer on October 10, 1942. He went to Ewing High School where he graduated in 1960 with honors. Following high school, Walt enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Germany for 3 years. He went on to earn an Associate's degree with honors in Applied Science at MCCC in 1972 and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce at Rider College in 1975. He worked as a computer programmer for Interpool for over 30 years. Walt enjoyed being outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, and traveling. He enjoyed the many hours spent working in his garden. Walt belonged to the Italian American Club, the American Legion Post 493, and was treasurer of the Frontier Sportsman Club.

Son of the late John and Livia Alice (Bocchile) Celmer.

Husband of the late Patricia O'Boyle Celmer.

Grandfather of the late Alexis Federico.

Walt is survived by his children Michele and her husband, Jeff Federico and Lisa and her husband Eric Disler. He is known as "Poppi" to his granddaughters Emily Disler, Breanna Federico, and Katelyn Disler. Walt is survived by life companion Patricia Marcattilio, her children Denise Maurer and Michele Hepner, and their children who fondly called him "Poppi Walt". His brothers John and his wife Edith Celmer and Kenneth and his wife Judith Celmer, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A special thank you to all of his hospice caregivers, especially Kim and "T".

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1717 N. Clyde Morris Blvd #130, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
