Walter Robert Denmark

Walter Robert Denmark (age 88) passed away from this life March 26, 2026, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, Fl surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Echols County on November 12, 1938, to the late Daniel Edward and Latain Denmark.

He is survived by his wife Christine Sorrell Denmark, Valdosta Ga. Two sisters Evelyn Padgett and Audrey and Johnnie McDaniel, Jasper, Fl. His daughters Teressa Allen, Lee, Fl, Cindy and Mike Lessman, Jasper, Fl, and Dana Welch, Jennings, Fl. Sons, Mark and Tina Welch, Valdosta Ga. and Brett and Cindy Welch, Hahira, Ga. He had 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Mathis and Sandra Pert. 

In the early years he worked at Evan’s until he was offered a position by the late Sheriff Charlie Rhoden as Sheriff’s Deputy in Hamilton County, Fl. Later he worked for PCS phosphate co. from there he retired.

He enjoyed Church, fishing, spending time with family and friends, woodworking and took pride in having a well-kept yard. He never met a stranger, loved to laugh and always had a good joke to tell. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on April 17, 2026, at 11:00AM, at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fl. Friends and Family are welcome to visit with family at the home of Cindy and Mike Lessman directly after the service.
