Walter Vernon Fisher Born 11/30/1928 in Cambridge, MA. Walter is the son of William Fisher and Beatrice Schimmel.
He is predeceased by his wife, Diane (DeVitt) Fisher, his son Greg Fisher and two grandchildren, Allison Wright and Seth Fisher.
He has 3 surviving children, Gary Fisher and his wife Carolyn of Wilmington, NC, Ellen Murray of N. Berwick, ME and Glen Fisher and wife Susan, of Auburndale, MA. He leaves behind 3 beloved grandchildren, Justin, Carson and Mary Alice Fisher.
Walter was a member of the United States AirForce and served during the Korean War in the Philippines. When he returned, he completed his bachelor's degree at Northeastern University. Walter had a long career as a contract administrator for Raytheon Company and traveled often, including moving to Denmark with his wife and son for 2 years. He and his wife travelled often and enjoyed museums, concerts and theater. Walter was an active member of the First Parish Church, United in Westford for 58 years and enjoyed singing in the church choir as well as the Westford Chorus. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing tennis and golf. Walter will be missed by the many friends he touched and his loving family. He brought joy to everyone with his boyish smile, wit and dance moves.
A memorial service will be held at First Parish Church United in Westford on Saturday Mayy 11 at 12:00 noon with a reception to follow.
