Walter Idorwatt, 74, of Willimantic husband of Olga Bernard passed away Friday December 13, 2024 at the Curtis Home in Meriden.
Born on November 24, 1949 in Santurce, Puerto Rico he was the son of William Idorwatt and Geneveva Morales. He was also a U.S Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was an excellent electromechanic which he dedicated to himself for most of his life. He learned this trade while in the Army and he also drove semis or big trucks for transport. He had a passion for car racing which he passed down to his daughters. He was the greatest dad on earth to his daughters and wanted them to be independent and capable of doing anything. He loved his kids, grand kids and was so proud of being a great grandfather.
Besides his wife, he leaves his 3 daughters, Mily Idorwatt, Lynette Idorwatt and Igmar Idorwatt and her husband Willi Velez; Olga's son, Willi Maldonado; 11 grandchildren, Seth, Jonathan, Sofia, Angel, Yasiel, Angeli, Guarionex, Yorelis, Angel, Anyelimar and Paola and 4 great grandchildren, Malachi, Lunetta, Amenadiel and Yoemi. He also leaves a brother, William and his kids, Madeline, Francoise and Willi which were very close to Walter and his children.
Relatives and friends may visit on Wednesday Dec 18, from 4 to 6PM at Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Thursday Dec 19, at 1PM at the State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow La, Middletown.
