Walter J. "Jay" Rogers, Jr., 68, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of 30 years of Delores S. (Bessette) Rogers of Stoughton. Born in Stoughton, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. He was also a graduate of Bryant and Stratton in Boston. He worked as an insurance broker for Rogers Insurance in Stoughton for many years. He was a member of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce and Cam Nats Nature Photography Association. In his free time, he was an avid scuba diver and model railroad builder and was also a scuba instructor and firearms instructor. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step children; Michelle Gullbrants and her husband Kevin of Brockton and Lisa Wiles and her husband Bryan of GA. He was the grandfather of Melissa Mobark and Matthew Mobark both of Middleboro, Tucker Gullbrants of Brockton and Collin Wiles and Brooke Wiles both of GA. He was the brother of John "Jack" Rogers of FL. Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Diver's Alert Network, 6 West Colony Place, Durham, NC 27705 or online to www.diversalertnetwork.org/development/donations.aspx or to the American Heart Assn, 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
