Walter "Joe" Joseph Lathrop, 67, of Masaryktown, Florida passed away on May 6, 2023. He was born on July 13, 1955 in Hart, Michigan to Walter Joseph, Sr. and Harriet (Bettys) Lathrop.
He was a member of New Life Christian Church in Spring Hill, Florida. Throughout the years he was very active and devoted to his church family.
He was a Power Lineman for 32 years and retired with Duke Energy after 15 years. After retirement, Walt enjoyed working in the yard with his flowers; going to Estate Sales; day trips throughout Florida; volunteering for Food Pantry at Life Church in Spring Hill; he was an avid griller, and baby back ribs were his favorite. Reading was another enjoyment for Walt including reading his Bible. He truly enjoyed his 6 years of retirement until the Lord called him home.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Corey Lathrop; sister, Linda Ward and her husband Allen; brother, Charles Lathrop; sister, Ann Tanner and her husband, Wayne; sister, Mary Pearson and her husband, Scott; sister, Kathy Abbatoy and her husband, John; brother, Mike Lathrop and his wife, Irene; extended family of 5 brother-in-laws; 5 sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; loving family and friends.
