Walter Eugene "Gene" Marsh, 75, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on July 1, 2024. Born on September 18, 1948, in Walker County, Alabama, he was the youngest grandson of A.W. and Sarah Marsh.
Gene dedicated his life to service, as a Marine, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. He held a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and was an active member of Bermala Masonic Lodge 836 in Clay, Alabama.

His love for animals was profound, especially for his Boston Terrier, Baxter the Deuce, among other cherished pets that he owned in the past.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lorraine Lynn Marsh; son, Christopher Lynn Marsh; step-son, Terry Rich (Sabrina); step-daughters, Tamra Harmon and Melissa Watson; brother, Tim Martin (Kim); sister, Melissa Marsh; niece, Rachel Todd (Matthew); nephew, Robert Martin (Breianna); great-nieces, Layla Todd and Logan Martin; great-nephews, Paxton Martin and Matthew Thomas Todd; along with 15 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, many cousins whom he loved like brothers and sisters and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Johnnie Sue Earnest Marsh, infant daughter Margaret Mechelle, and son Darryl Eugene.
