Walter Loyal McLemore, a devoted father and skilled diesel mechanic, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27 2024, in Grandview, Texas, at the age of 74. Born on March 31, 1950, in Decatur, Alabama, Walter dedicated over 40 years of his career to Cummins-Southern Plains, where he was known for his expertise and dedication in his field.
Walter was not only a consummate professional but also a passionate individual with a rich variety of interests. He was a gun hobbyist who found joy in building things and tackling home improvement projects, which showcased his remarkable creativity and resourcefulness.
As a loving father, Walter leaves behind his beloved daughter, Sonya Lowrance, and his son, Alan Humphries. Walter is also survived by his brother, Johnie McLemore and his wife Linda, along with his nephew, Timothy McLemore, and niece, Sheryl McLemore-Statton. His legacy will continue through his grandchildren, Bryce McLemore, Brice Humphries, and Lauren Humphries, as well as his great-grandchildren, Payton Humphries, Olivia Blocker, Isabella Blocker, Briana Blocker, Dakota Blocker, and Anthony Blocker.
Walter's military service as a Sharpshooter in the Army stood as a testament to his character, reflecting a commitment to excellence and discipline throughout his life. In remembrance of his life, Walter joins his deceased family members, including his wife Lynetta, his parents John Timothy and Annie Novella (Wooton) McLemore, and his grandson Micah Calton.
Visitation for Walter will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Rio Vista Cemetery, Rio Vista, TX .Walter Loyal McLemore will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his dedication to family, and the positive impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many.
