Walter Ronald Reed

Ron Reed, 88, passed peacefully in the early evening of December 21st surrounded by Marcia, his devoted wife of 67 years, and his 6 loving children.

Ron (Dad) was born December 14, 1937, in Quincy, Illinois to parents Walter E. and Deloris (Koenig) Reed. He graduated from Howe High School in 1955. On a blind date, in 1956, he met the love of his life, Marcia and they wed February 28, 1958.

Ron worked at Sonith Foundry as a young adult until he and his dad began their own business, R&W Bronze and Aluminum. Later, he owned a Pizza Barn until he retired and became the best babysitter (Papaw Wally) the grandkids could have ever wanted. Ron enjoyed golfing, bowling, Hersey chocolate bars, and cruising with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Huffman and her children.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Marcia (Gasaway) and his children: Robert Reed (Denise), Ronald Reed, Lori Harner (Mike), Lisa Crawford (Brian), Julie Sears, and Richard Reed (Sara). He also leaves behind grandchildren: Jon (Cheyenne), Brandon (Krista), Dana (Pat), Kim (Jake), Justin, Melinda, Nicole, Kyle (Sarah), Michelle (Jake), Brittney (Josh), Hayley (Joe), Hannah, along with 21 great-grandchildren.
