Walter Scott, 64, resident of Cornersville, died Friday, August 16, 2024 at his sister’s residence in Columbia.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born July 26, 1960 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Fred Scott and the late Audrey Inez McCrary Scott. Mr. Scott was a 1979 graduate of Columbia Central High School. He retired from International Comfort Products in Lewisburg, where he was a tow motor operator. Mr. Scott loved hunting and fishing, and was an avid UT Vol’s fan.
He is survived by his brother, Bobby Eugene (Brenda Faye) Scott of Columbia; sisters, Linda Gail Scott Potts (David Eatherly) of Columbia, and Brenda Scott of Centerville; nieces and nephews, Andrea Siniard, Brandy Martin, April Damron, Rebecca Head, Michael Cory Scott, Autumn Nicole Potts, Angela Deltoro, Jennifer Linhart, Timothy Linhart, and Charles Linhart; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and aunt, Audrey Scott.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Kay Siniard.
Pallbearers will be Tim Oliver, Hunter Damron, Nicholas Siniard, Cory Scott, Carlton Scott, David Eatherly, Julian Ray Karson, and Axel Sumner Karson.
