Mr. Walter Douglas Thompson

Funeral Services for Walter Douglas "Doug" Thompson, 63 of Rusk, will be March 12, 2026, under direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral home in Rusk, Texas. Visitation at 10 am- Funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Jan Pate. Interment at Cedar Hill cemetery to follow.

Doug passed away on March 5, 2026. He was born on June 28th, 1961, in Big Springs, TX.

Doug was a very hard-working man who spent more than half his life working in the Oilfield. Known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature, he took pride in providing for his family and earning the respect of those he worked alongside. His most recent employment was with Wright's Tree Service.

Doug spent much of his life in the Rusk community, where he built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many.

He survived by his loving wife, Vicki Thompson, his children, JD Thompson, Jacob Thompson, and Stephen & wife Ashley Goff of Rusk, TX. His cherished granddaughter, Rayleigh Goff. Brothers, Allan Thompson and Randy Thompson of Rusk, TX. Sister, Debbie & husband David Berryhill of Jacksonville, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John T. & Ann Thompson.

Pallbearers are Stephen Goff, Nick McIntyre, Justin Berryhill, Broderick Sessions, Dodric Sessions.

Honorary pallbearers are Cody Thompson & Cecil Curry.
