Walter Eugene "Gene" Vaughn passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Carbondale, Illinois.  

Gene was born July 12, 1942, in Creal Springs, the son of Walter and Vivian (White) Vaughn.

He worked in the auto industry, the maintenance department at SIU and Tuck Tape.  He honorably served in the United States Army.

Gene enjoyed riding horses in his younger years on the family farm, watching Cardinal baseball and spending time with family.

He is survived by sisters Joyce Rich, Donna (Don) Goodrich, Brenda Faron, Linda (Dee) Church, Janice Swanson, Sandra (Leon) Rich, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James Vaughn.

Blue Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
