Wanda Akin Obituary
Wanda Akin, lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Born on February 3, 1942, in Hereford, Texas, to parents Allen J.C. King and Dorothy Lucille Crowe-King.
Wanda was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life. She married Charles Akin on September 7, 1962 in Grand Saline, Tx. They shared 48 years together until his passing in March of 2010.
Wanda's legacy carries forward through her cherished family. She is survived by her daughter, Kerri Jahr, and son-in-law, Mike Jahr, along with her son, Kelly Akin. Her heart swells with pride for her grandsons, Leighton Jahr and wife Kelsi, and Kaden Akin, as well as her great-grandchildren, Maelyn Jahr and Jameson Jahr. Wanda's beloved sister, Margie Thomas, remains a comforting presence in the lives they shared.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Akin, and her parents, Allen J.C. King and Dorothy Lucille Crowe-King. Their memories are forever intertwined in the rich tapestry of her life.
A viewing will be held on April 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Diana Tx.
The next day, April 11,2025, a graveside service will take place at Walnut Creek Cemetery, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Wanda Akin's gentle spirit and unwavering love will be missed deeply but remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched.
