On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, Wanda J. Barron, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the age of 89.
Wanda was born January 19, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She grew up in Indiahoma with two sisters and a brother. She loved being a mom to her nine children and had a successful career with the U.S. Census Bureau until she retired in 2004.
Wanda loved sports, especially OU and Oklahoma City Thunder! She watched almost any sport but had a great love for basketball, football, girls softball and soccer. She loved to cook and enjoyed family gatherings.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Merle; sisters, Francis and Kay; and brother, Dan. Surviving family members include Lee Barron, Mary McDaniel, Andy Barron, Carolyn Washington, Susan Bohl, Jay Barron, Robert Barron, Amy Brown, Bonnie Sanders, and their spouses; grandchildren include, Britnee Joyner, Brandi Barkley, Trevor Barron, Chaz Washington, Alex Barron, Chelsee Washington, Cory Washington, Connor Barron, Rachel Boltjes, Brennan Brown, Maddy Barron, Morgan Brown and Keanu Sanders; she also had 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home on Saturday - January 28, 2023 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The America Heart Association.
