Wanda Louise Barta went home with the Lord on May 31st, 2025. Wanda was born to Tom and Jenny Barber in Cuero TX on June 23, 1939. Moving to Gonzales at a young age where she grew up and graduated from Gonzales High School in 1957. After High School she lived in Gonzales where she met and married Billy Ray Willeford. Moving to Victoria TX and started a Family in the early 70s. Giving birth to Brian and Scott Willeford. Moving to Portland TX in the late 70s where she called home until July of 1992. Moving back to Gonzales after remarrying Bobby Barta. Calling Gonzales home again until the later years of her life. Where she moved back to Portland TX then to New Braunfels TX where she called home until the last years of her life.
Wanda loved her time with friends, family, high school classmates, and church fellowship. She loved travel and traveled to almost every State in the US and even a few other countries. She had a keen eye and passion for photography and won numerous awards for her work. Always sending cards, calendars, church flyers, class reunion photos, and personal letters using the pictures she had taken and touching the lives of many with them. Along with her hobbies and interests she never lost her faith in the Lord.
She is survived by her sons Scott Willeford and wife Amy of New Braunfels and Brian Willeford of Portland, Texas; step-sons Rodney Barta, Lorne Barta and wife Paula and Max Barta all of Gonzales. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert Gene "Bobby" Barta.
