Wanda Jean Moffette Brown age 86, departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at home with her loved ones by her side. She was born on April 8, 1939 to the late Hugh Moffette and Edna Hatmaker Moffette. Wanda enjoyed her morning coffee, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Seventh Day Christian Assembly. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very devout in her faith. Wanda will hold a special place in our hearts, and will forever be missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband: John Oliver Brown; Sister: Hazel Waggoner.
She is survived by her Son: John Michael Brown and wife Janie; Grandchildren: Sarah Vanhook and husband Colby; Great-Grandchildren: Jazlyn, Jakoby, Ezekiel, Tegan and Cannon Vanhook; Brother: Jim Moffette; Sisters: Ella Hutchison, Francis Wood, Jewell Roberts; Brother-in-Law: Dan Waggoner; numerous family members and friends.
The family would like to express a Special Thank You to Quality Hospice nurses, Brenda Smith and Renee Gaddess. They would also like to Thank, Grace Primary Care and Dr. Tim Smith, for the special care they have received.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service to begin a 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Pastor Ken Swiger, Elder Wade Johnson and Elder David Truan officiating. Music will be provided by family. Burial will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Colby Vanhook, Jon Fletcher, Jimmy Lee Moffette, Steve Johnson, and Kevin Roberts. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jakoby.
