Wanda Eubanks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home - Fort Gibson on Aug. 29, 2024.
Wanda Louise (Staton) Eubanks, 83, of Fort Gibson, OK was born May 7, 1941, to Gordon and Dorothy (Cramer) Staton and met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in Tulsa, OK. Louise was a lifetime Fort Gibson resident, graduating from Fort Gibson High School with the Class of 1959. She met and married the love of her life, Peck Eubanks, in Fort Gibson, on August 20, 1959, the same year she graduated. After high school, Louise went on to work at Corning Glass for 16 years, before accepting a position as the director of accounting for the Muskogee Housing Authority. She excelled at this position for 23 years, until her retirement in 2011. Louise was a great conversationalist and had many friends, making sure to always attend game nights with the ladies or being part of the Sassy Sewing Ladies Club. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Gibson and enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Louise was also phenomenal in the kitchen and was famous for her yeast rolls. In her later years as she became a grandparent, she found her greatest passion to be her grandkids, spoiling and loving them. Louise loved flowers, specifically tulips, planting them and had beautiful flowers every year. She enjoyed the hobby of quilting and became very skilled at both quilting and sewing. Louise loved her family fiercely, and leaves behind a legacy of devotion and unconditional love. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Louise is now reunited with her parents, Gordon and Dorothy Staton; her husband, Peck Eubanks; daughter, Marlene Burress; sister, Paulette Staton; and brothers, James Staton, TA Staton, and Dub Staton.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Hugh Eubanks and his wife Cherie of Muskogee, OK; granddaughters, Leah Eubanks Brownell and husband Cade of Broken Arrow, OK; Tisha Burress of Muskogee, OK; grandson, Tyeler Burress and his wife Rebekah of Muskogee, OK; her great- granddaughters, Miriam, Naomi, and Esther Burress; her sister, Geneva Eaton and husband John of Muskogee, OK; sister-in-law, Vickie Staton of Fort Gibson, OK; special family friends, Blanche Reece, Marcy Ragsdale, and Lora Sellers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A viewing will be held from 2:00PM to 5:00PM Monday, September 2, 2024, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. The family will be there to greet friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
A celebration of Louise's life will be held at 11:30AM Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Fort Gibson with Reverend Logan Lambert officiating. Interment and committal prayers will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Grady Perryman, Kelly Staton, Tommy Staton, Doug Everett, Wes McLain, and Ira Jackson serving as casket bearers.
