Wanda Ferrington Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McLin Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Dec. 2, 2025.
Wanda S. Ferrington, age 73, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She was born on June 22, 1952, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, the oldest daughter of the late Floyd and Faye Ferrington.

Before residing in the nursing home, Wanda was a devoted homemaker who found joy in simple pleasures, such as reading from her extensive book collection, baking Christmas goodies for family and friends, Walmart trips, and listening to old country music. She was a force to be reckoned with. Born at only 2 pounds and crippled from polio, she was fiercely independent, determined to be defined by her spirit and not her condition. She will be remembered for her strength, her infectious laugh, and the immense love and pride she had for her granddaughters.

Wanda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Chris Morgan; her four cherished granddaughters, Sarah and Sadie Tauzy, and Mayli and Mackenzie Morgan; and her siblings, Debbie Seifert and Floyd Ferrington, Jr.

In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her two sons, Stephen and Mark Sylvest, her sister, Lori Smith, and her common-law spouse, Randy Berry.

A private memorial will be held at a later date for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Wanda's memory by contributing to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice at 9191 Bluebonnet Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. The care and compassion received was unmatched, and they are eternally grateful. Although the entire staff was wonderful, Wanda's daughter would like to personally recognize Terry O'Bryan and Michelle Broussard for their support in helping to navigate this difficult journey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McLin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclinfuneralhome.com
