Wanda Gray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stutts Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2025.
Mrs. Wanda Gail Watkins Gray, age 68, of Roopville passed away December 12, 2025.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday December 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM (Georgia Time) at Bethel East Baptist Church (Woodland, AL) with Rev. Neil Awbrey officiating.
Mrs. Gray was born June 4, 1957 in Del Rio, Texas to the late Jack R. Watkins and Louise Watkins. She was a Christian by faith.
She dedicated her life to the care of her home. She adored her family, especially her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the love of her life. She also dearly loved her husband, Kenneth, with whom she had been married for 50 years. She lived the great commandment of, "Love thy neighbor as thyself," to the fullest. If it was within her power to help anyone, she never hesitated to give assistance to those in need.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and going fishing. She loved animals and held a special place in her heart for her fur babies: Bailey, Lil Girl, Blue, Dog, Dolly, and Squirt.
Survivors include: her husband, Kenneth Gray; two daughters, Jackie Hancock (Mike) and Jessica Bates; five grandchildren: Taylor Bishop (Marcus), Samantha Hancock, Henry Austin Bates, Waylon Bates, and Janie Gail Bates; three great-grandchildren: Addison Bishop, Avery Morrell, and Lakelyn Morgan; one sister, Lhonda Edwards; two brothers, Jerry Watkins and Lanny Watkins; a brother-in-law, Gary "Doc" Gray; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry Harris Gray and Louise Gray.

To Kenneth, Jackie and Jessica, I loved your mother like a sister. She was my high school Bestie. We did everything together. We dated together, got in trouble together and had some of the best times of our lives together. Even though life got in the way and we lived so far apart, she was always in my heart. Your mother was there for me in some of the darkest times of my life. Loosing my mother, loosing a child. She would always tell me that I will get through this. She was always right. Girls, I want you to know how much your mother loved you and her Grandbabies and Great Grandbabies. Mike thank you for being their rock when they need it the most. Kenneth, my heart is breaking. I never thought that you would have to go through what I went through loosing Roger. I may be far away Kenneth, Jackie and Jessica, but I am only a phone call away if you ever need to talk. I can tell you what a wonderful person Wanda Watkins Gray was and how she will always be to me. Love Rebecca Rush Williams
