Wanda "Jennie" Linda Prater, 83, of Trinity, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at her home. The family held a private graveside service on Sunday. She was buried at Friendship Cemetery.
Born on September 9, 1942 to F D and Hazel Odean Hill Gillespie, Jennie graduated from Speake High School. She had a successful career with Liberty National Life Insurance Company; where she earned many awards including Agent of the Year across the entire United States. Jennie loved homemaking, cooking, gardening, travel, reading, sewing, fishing and hunting for treasures. She was an elegant lady who loved everything that sparkled and wearing animal prints. She loved "tasty water", Gun Smoke and her family. Jennie had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh. Her love language was definitely gift giving and she always showered her people with her love. The world is a little less without her presence. But we all rest assured we will see her again in Heaven where we have all agreed she will be wearing a sequined velvet leopard printed track suit with matching shoes and hand bag.
Survivors include her husband Don Prater; children, John Erdogan, and Wendy (Steve) Koshowsky; grandchildren, Trice (Lin) Koshowsky, Donly (Jamie) Paz- Koshowsky, Ian (McKenna) Koshowsky, Solomon Koshowsky, Aliyah Prater Crews, Jordan Aldridge (Breanna), Hunter Aldridge; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Koshowsky, Gio Paz; and Macie Aldridge, sister, Louann Harris; twin brother, Wendell Gillespie; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
