Wanda Prohosky Obituary
Wanda graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1953. On January 28, 1956, she married the love of her life, Robert E. Prohosky, in Shelby, Indiana.
A dedicated homemaker, Wanda centered her life around faith, family, and service. She was a longtime member of Bethany Evangelical Church in Rensselaer and also attended Parr Baptist Church. Wanda enjoyed quilting, sewing, and playing the piano, and she loved singing in the church choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star Evening Chapter #165 in Monticello and participated in the Red Hat Society, where she formed many cherished friendships.
Wanda is survived by her children, Cindy (Art) Walker of Rensselaer, IN; Paula Schleman of Lafayette, IN; and Lori Prohosky of Rensselaer, IN. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan (Kim) Schleman, Nathan (Jessica) Schleman, Adam (Emily) Schleman, Scott (Stacy) Walker, and Jason (Candace) Walker; along with twelve great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her siblings, Theresa (Jerry) Cross of Wheatfield, IN, and Robert Mott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert E. Prohosky, her son, Robert W. Prohosky; and one brother.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. CT, with interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Jasper County Animal Shelter.
