Wanda Lee Bellmire Qualls, 86, of Beckville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, in
Carthage, Texas. Born on August 4, 1939, in Worland, Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late Herman Seth and Daisy Bussard Bellmire. Wanda attended North Dallas High School and married James Norman "Jim" Qualls, Sr. on December 14, 1956. They shared 63 wonderful years together before Jim's passing on April 14, 2020. In 1970, Wanda and Jim moved to Beckville from Dallas, where Wanda worked as the secretary for the HUD office in Beckville for many years. A talented seamstress, Wanda enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and bowling. Her creativity shone in her care for her husband's needs: when Jim was dissatisfied with his welding hats, Wanda crafted a pattern from one of his old hats and went on to make over 1,000 of them for Jim and his co-workers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she also used her sewing skills to make masks for those in need. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Beckville, Wanda was known for her warmth and kindness. She enjoyed singing in the church choir whenever she was able. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jim; and their son, David "Shorty" Qualls; as well as by her siblings, Shirley Sewell and Charles Bellmire.
Wanda is survived by her children: James N. "Jimmy" Qualls and wife Melinda, Michael D. "Mike" Qualls and wife Robin, and Penny Qualls Attaway. She was a loving grandmother to Wendy Barton (Clint Dowdy), April Qualls, Dene' Attaway, Jamie Dailey (Charlie), Amanda Morrow (Joseph), Jeania Attaway, Curtis Attaway (Christina), and Hollye Qualls. Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren; Bryce, Madyson, Billy, Jase, Callie, Mica, Fiona, Carter, Zen, Brayden, Mallory, Raylan, and Kaylin. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Shannon Qualls; and special friends, Sue Butcher and Linda Watters, who were dear to her heart. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends also survive.
