Wanda Mae Ramsey

Wanda Mae (Walters) Ramsey, 92, passed away on August 24, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 10, 1932, in Williamsburg, Kentucky to her late mother, Nancy (Walters) Croley. She loved her family more than anything in the world and lived her life through the generations she helped create. Wanda was the family's "Pampered Princess" and the "best cook in the world." She was known for the family meals she prepared and for her ability to never meet a stranger. Once you met Wanda, you would never forget her. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. She is preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Elmer Gordon Ramsey; son, Timothy Cowles; stepson, Cecil Ramsey; sister, Ruth Spooner; and sister-in-law, Eva Perciful. Wanda is lovingly remembered by her children, Karen "Tootie" Vessels (Tom), Theresa "Sissy" Birdsall (Earl), John Cowles (Debbie), Julie Masden (Mark), and Gina Lucas (Michael Dyer); grandchildren, Holly, Suzette, Tracy, Heather, Jason, Jerron, Justin, Mandie, Shannon, Jonathan, Eric, Evie, Jenny, Skylar; 29 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Her funeral visitation will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 12:00-8:00 pm. Her funeral service will start at 5:00PM on Saturday, and the visitation will continue afterwards. A private burial will take place at a later date.
