Wanda Omeiga Shipp

Wanda Omeiga Shipp, 87, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, left this earthly life January 21, 2021.

Wanda was born to Callie Jane and Joe Stevens on October 5, 1933, in Paris, Texas. She married her sweetheart, Royce Emmitt Shipp, while she was still in high school. They remained happily married until his death in 2002.

Wanda had a strong Christian faith and was loved by all who knew her. If ever there was a “good woman,” Wanda defined it. She was kind and caring and devoted to God and her family.

Wanda is survived by daughters, Brenda Jane Key and Vicki Lynn Hutchins; nephew, Jimmy Taft, and great niece, Faye Moore; her grandchildren, Melissa Lin Lunceford and Callie Nicole Hutchins; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne F. Jones, Liberty F. Parnell and husband, Lee Parnell, Josie Burrow, Emma Paz, and Emmitt Paz; great-great grandchildren, include Emmett Blodgett, Caelan Parnell, Quinlan Parnell, and Kyra Parnell.

Visitation will take place Saturday, January 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, at 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, Texas. A service will be held the following day, Sunday, January 31, at 3:00 p.m., at the Springtown Cemetery, in Springtown, Texas.
