Wanda Joyce Smith, 79, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at Signature Healthcare in Glasgow. Born on August 3, 1946, in Glasgow, she was a beloved figure in her community and cherished by her family and friends.
Wanda dedicated her life to being a homemaker, taking pride in caring for her family with deep love and devotion. She was known for her artistic spirit, enjoying painting and drawing in her free time. Her creative flair extended beyond art; she loved thrifting, often sharing her unique finds with those around her. A devoted Christian, Wanda's faith was a big part of her life, guiding her actions and influencing her relationships with others. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family.
Wanda is survived by her loving son, Daniel Smith (Kellie), daughters Melissa Smith (Tim) and Melanie Shrout (Patrick), and grandchildren Shiloh Carter (Matt), Garren McCoy, Jason Shrout, and Brian Shrout. She was also a proud grandmother to five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Norma Hale, Ruth Smith, Lois Akin, Beverly Thomas (Jerry), and Betty Jo Landrum (John), and brother James Ragle (JoAnn), as well as several nieces and nephews. Her special friends, Jenny Spann and Dylan Read, will deeply miss her vibrant presence and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Oloh Ragle and Mayme Britt Ragle, her beloved husband, William "Bill" Neal Smith, and her brothers Hershall Ragle, Gerald Ragle, Steven Ragle, and John Daniel Ragle, along with her sister Juanita Kirby.
The funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 13th, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Thursday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
