Wanda Ruth Tormey

Wanda Ruth Tormey, 79, of Decatur, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. Wanda was born August 23, 1946, in Decatur, Arkansas, to Forrest Percy Austin and Edna Bell Peterson Austin. On August 18, 1972, she married James H. Tormey II in Decatur, Arkansas. Mrs. Tormey was a member of Assembly of God Church in Decatur, Arkansas for many years. She worked in banking as a loan officer and later, human resources. Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family, her church and reading. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Bell Austin; her father, Forrest Percy Austin; two brothers, Forrest Lyle Austin, and Vernon Leroy Austin; her sister-in-law, Paula Kay Davis.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Tormey II of Decatur, Arkansas; her daughter, Amy Lynn Brooks of Decatur, Arkansas; her granddaughter, Sydnie Elizabeth Brooks of Decatur, Arkansas; her grandson, Deegan Edwin Brooks of Decatur, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law, Linda Kay Austin of Decatur, Arkansas, Judith Diane Austin of Decatur, Arkansas, and Pamela Jane Walton (Don) of Green Valley, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A visitation is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. A funeral service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2025, at Decatur Assembly of God Church in Decatur, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas.
