Teresa Miller Obituary

Teresa "Terrie" Mae DeFoe Miller, our loving wife, mother, daughter and sister went home suddenly to be with her beautiful Savior and heavenly family on November 7th, 2025. Terrie was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 16th, 1956 to Marvin and Gina Butterfield DeFoe.
From baker to special education teacher, from party planner to crafter, Terrie's talents were remarkable and varied. She was unusually creative and always had an idea as to how to add more fun or thoughtfulness to any party or get together. If you wanted a memorable occasion that would make people feel welcome, happy or blessed, you called Terrie. She was always willing to help and make a positive difference.
To anyone blessed enough to have met and known her, Terrie displayed a beauty and charisma that was all her own. She always displayed a vibrance and an enthusiasm for life that was contagious. Terrie made you laugh and always helped you find the blessings and joy in small things. She had a way of making you feel special and she always had a knack for expressing her love in sweet and unique ways. While she was simple in her daily life--her love was extravagant.
Terrie accepted Jesus while in college and lived a powerful example of his grace and love ever since. She lived her faith without compromise and would often speak to others about what he did for her and how they, too, could experience the joy of knowing him. As we all know, Terrie was seldom without words. Time and time again she would approach people she did not know just to offer a kind word or a helping hand. Her zest for life, mixed with Christlike compassion, made her a force for God's Kingdom. Could we number the hearts she touched for eternity, we would be amazed. Terrie made the difference for so many souls time after time. She had a heart for the disabled, the aged and the outcast. She made it her life's mission to bless and to be a blessing. To her the small things mattered just as much as the big things and she always lived her life in a way that reflected the truth of God's Word. Her crown now bestowed most surely displays the profound impact she has made for Heaven's Kingdom.
To say she is missed is an inadequate expression of our true feelings. A beautiful and bright light is no longer visible within our earthly walk. While this may be true, we do know that the life and light of Terrie Miller is shining brightly on the other side of the Heavenly veil. Our beautiful one is now more alive than we are, fulfilling the call and destiny placed upon her life from the moment she was born out of the Father's heart.
To honor her and her legacy of life and light, let us diligently pursue in our lives the actions and words that will reflect the love of Jesus as Terrie always did on this earth. In this way our sweet Terrie will continue to live through our tangible expressions of His heart to those around us.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Bruce, and her daughter, Bethany. She also leaves behind 5 sisters, Sally, Linda, Debbie, Brenda, Dena and one brother, Marvin. Also surviving her is her father in law, Duane Schmidt and her sister in law, Lisa, and a host of beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Jesus and her family meant everything to Terrie. She prayed day and night until the time she left that each one of them would someday see Him and believe in His Name.
Services will be held at Believers Fellowship in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM. Visitation will proceed the service at 10:00 AM.
