Wanda "Tudy" Lee Bethe, 94, of Elberfeld IN passed away surrounded by family at her home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Wanda was born to loving parents, Ferdinand and Ethel Bethe, in Elberfeld on September 2, 1929. She attended high school in Elberfeld and then pursued a meaningful career in office work in Evansville, IN. Wanda was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary at Post 351, and the First Baptist Church of Elberfeld. She very much enjoyed her time spent at the American Legion, and time spent with her family, whom she adored. She will be remembered as a sweet lady who was a pleasure to be around.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Ethel. She is also the last to pass of her nine siblings; Harvey, Alfred, Orvil and Lowell Bethe, Ferdinand Bethe Jr, Josephine Butch, Opal Barton, Evelyn Butcher, and an infant sibling who passed at birth.
She is survived by multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and an enormous friend group; as well as her niece and great-nephew's three dogs, whom she adored as if they were her own.
A funeral service will be held for Wanda at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2024, at Titzer Family Funeral Home's Volkman Chapel, 200 Elm St., Elberfeld IN. 47613, with burial to follow at Zion Cemetery in Elberfeld. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Condolences may be made to Wanda's family on the Titzer Family Funeral Homes website. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deaconess Hospice, the American Legion Post #351, and or The First Baptist Church of Elberfeld.
The Bethe family would also like to impart special thanks to Deaconess Hospice for their tender care of Wanda.
