Wanda "Wheaton" Matics Obituary
Wanda Marie Matics, 85, of Williamstown, WV, passed away peacefully Friday, September 26, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Armour Alexander and Dollie Annave Wheaton, Wanda was born December 2, 1939, on the Jackson County Wood County Line in West Virginia. Wanda lived a life devoted to family and community.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, and dedicated her life to being a nurturing homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her family.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers, Armour Wheaton Jr. and Lewis Wheaton.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Robert L. Matics of Williamstown, WV, who stood by her side throughout their many years together, sharing a loving partnership filled with many cherished memories; son, Jeffrey Matics (Sloane) of Marietta, OH; daughter, Julie Matics of Bridgeville, PA; and her two grandchildren; Ryan Kerbaugh and Melina Matics.
A private burial will take place at Ravenswood Cemetery.
