Wanda Ann Woytek passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, in Sparks, NV. She was 83 years old. Wanda was born on November 2nd, 1940, to Fred and Ester Boyatt in Oneida, TN. Wanda graduated from Oneida High School in 1955, she sang in the local Baptist church choir, and worked as a seamstress at Boss Glove Manufacturing until she met the love of her life, Leslie Woytek, in 1970.
Les and Wanda dated for only six short months before "tying the knot." Together they spent time in Tennessee, Texas, and Arizona, before planting their forever roots in Reno, Nevada where they raised their family and started their own business, Woytek Drilling Company, in 1981 – where they worked side by side until they both decided to retire 20 years later.
Wanda enjoyed sewing, knitting, and singing in the church choir at the Nazarene church. On Friday nights you could always find her and Les dancing in each other's arms at the Senior Center Dance Club, but her biggest joy in life was always her family.
Wanda is proceeded in death by her parents Fred and Ester Boyatt, brothers Harold and Junior Boyatt, and sisters Mildred, Beulah, Wilda, and Betty.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Les Woytek, her two sons Douglas (Patricia) Woytek and Johnny (Athena) Woytek, her stepdaughter Patricia (Don) Fleming, her grandchildren Lindsey, Shaine, Storm, Hannah, Aiden, and Jonas, as well as her great grandchildren Kaylor, Asher, Azura, and Beau.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Wanda leaves behind a legacy filled with compassion, grace, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She truly was a beautiful southern belle, who has forever touched the lives of everyone fortunate to know her.
A funeral service will be held at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Ave., Reno on Friday, January 19th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Wanda's name to the Northern Nevada Alzheimer's Association or the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation.
