Warner Virgil Fowler passed away on August 9, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born on September 20, 1935 in Choctaw, Oklahoma, to Virgil Fowler and Myrtle (Skirlock) Fowler.
Warner married Jaunita Wright in 1956. He served for 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he worked for Western Electric (now Nokia) in OKC for 17 years. In 1977, they moved to a cabin on Raymond Gary Lake in Fort Towson, Oklahoma, and he worked for Weyerhaeuser in Wright City, Oklahoma, for 20 years. He retired from there even though management begged him to stay.
Warner was a jokester and always wanted to make people smile.
He loved listening to music, writing songs, watching westerns, and loving on his dog. He loved nature as well. In earlier years, he could be found driving the boat around while his wife fished from the back. In later years, he'd sit outside on his deck enjoying the nature around his home.
Most of all, he loved his wife. They were childhood sweethearts, married for 69 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jaunita Fowler; his daughter, Nita and husband Mike; his three sons, Ricky, Joe, and Troy and wife Julie; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; his ever-growing extended family; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Fort Towson Cemetery, with military honors. The family has requested donations be made to Raymond Gary Lake Association, P.O. Box 214, Ft. Towson, OK 74735.
Arrangements for Warner have been entrusted to Mt. Olive Funeral Home of Hugo, Oklahoma. Friends and family can sign the guest book or send private condolences at www.mtolivefh.com.
