Warren Burget, 81, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at IU Arnett Hospital. He was born with a twin brother, Loren, on June 14, 1944 in Logansport to the late Roy and Thelma Belle (Hershberger) Burget.
Warren was a 1962 graduate of Idaville High School, where he participated in many sports and academic activities. He served in the Army National Guard from 1964-1970 as a Platoon Sergeant. While serving in the military, he was honored with the Military Achievement Award.
He was married to the love of his life, Connie M. Geisler, on June 6, 1965, and she survives. They were members of Stidham United Methodist Church.
Warren was employed by Purdue National Bank, which later became Chase Bank, for 32 years. Starting as a Teller and working his way up to becoming a Vice President. After leaving Chase, he went to work for Caterpillar in Electric Power for 12 years as an Application Engineer, retiring in 2010.
Warren loved to travel. He and Connie have visited all 50 US states, plus over 20 countries. He enjoyed playing Euchre, Sequence, Golf (the card game), working jigsaw puzzles, reading and World War II history, and doing home improvements. He also loved baseball, and had fond memories of coaching his son, Greg, in baseball and daughter, Jodie, in softball during their beginner years.
He was an avid Dodgers and Purdue Basketball fan. He was an active member of Stidham United Methodist Church, serving on many different committees through the years.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Connie Burget, Warren is survived by his son, Warren "Greg" (Clairanna) Burget of Thorntown, IN; daughter, Jodie Lynn (Dennis) Bradley of Gainesville, GA; sister, Marilyn Myers of Kerrville, TX; brother-in-law, Ed Geisler of Battle Ground, IN; and grandchildren, Tanner Bradley of Savannah, GA, and Delanie Bradley of Milledgeville, GA. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and treasured friends to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his brothers, Loren Burget and Dale Burget; sisters, Jean Fowler and Joanne Hall; mother-in-law, Marie Geisler; father-in-law, Dale Geisler; sisters-in-law, Sue Geisler, Nancy Burget, and Rosemary Burget; and brothers-in-law, Walter Fowler, Ralph Hall, and Richard Myers.
A Memorial Visitation for Warren will be held at Hippensteel Funeral Home on Saturday, January 24th from 12-1 p.m., followed by Military Funeral Honors and a Memorial Service officiated by Pastor David Boyd. Warren will be laid to rest at a later date at Meadowview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Warren's family request that Memorial Contributions please be made to Stidham United Methodist Church.

Connie, our Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time. Warren was such a sweet guy and wonderful friend and neighbor. We´re happy he´s now Home with our Lord Jesus Christ and free from pain.

Warren was one of the most sincere and friendly guy. He always had a smile. And some times a funny story. It was neat watching him and Connie. They was usually laughing about something. They showed what it was to love and respect your best
Friend. RIP Warren you are whole and pain free. Connie you and the kids are in my prayers.. Warren was one of a kind.
