Warren Dykes was born in Newark, NJ on April 13, 1956 to Lucille Dykes and the late Andrew Dykes Sr. He was raised on Hunterdon Street and Jeliff Avenue. He attended Peshine Avenue Elementary and graduated from Weequahic High School in 1974. Warren had many occupations growing up. One was as a part-time clerk at the famous Meat City, a second as a Warehouse/Forklift Driver at Ruger Chemical Company (formerly known as American Elgin), but his main job was to be the rock for his family and he did this with every inch of his soul.
Family meant everything to Warren and it all began as a young child with him wanting to be so much like his older brothers who would never shy him away from the things he looked up to them for. Warren and Michelle Johnson had three beautiful daughters, Shaniqua Tkeyah and Hydeeah, who he loved dearly and did everything it took to make sure they knew that
Warren was known for his laughter and jokes, but most importantly his smooth dance moves once the vibrations of any house party song hit every nerve in his body. Let's not forget how much he dedicated his life to the Lord, he spent every Sunday praising and worshiping the Lord. Warren's charm and charisma was unmatched and he also was a committed Giants, Mets, Knicks/Nets fan.
Warren was preceded in death by his father Andrew Dykes Sr. and his oldest brother Andrew Dykes Jr.
Warren leaves behind his three children Shaniqua (Nene), Tkeyah (Keke) and Hydeeah (Hy). His brothers Jimmy, Wayne and Jeffrey Dykes. His sisters Carol (Kim) Treadwell and Jaqueline Dykes-Banks. His nieces Sheba, Andrea, Imani, Monae and Kabirah. His nephews Kareem, Shaheed, Jamar and Issac. His Aunt Julia Randolph and his in-law Paula Dykes. His former spouse Miriam Hines. Along with a host of close family and friends.
