Warren K. Jackson of Fort Mill, South Carolina passed away January 14, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 21, 1927 and was 96 years of age at his death. He was preceded in death by father, John Ross Jackson Sr., his Mother Hazel M Jackson and brother, John Ross Jackson, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of years 52 Paula, and three children; Ronald R Jackson (Laurel) of Lititz, Pennsylvania, James C Jackson (Kelly) of Edina, Minnesota and Kelly A Ussery (Ron) of Charlotte, North Carolina. There are seven grandchildren; Brandon Jackson, Garrett Jackson of New York City, New York, Connor Jackson of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Cameron Jackson, Eileen Jackson, Patrick Jackson of Edina, Minnesota and Dakota Ussery of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by his walking partner, Roxie.
He attended public schools in Chicago, Illinois. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, he received his college education at Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana and Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
He served as a deacon and elder at the Presbyterian Church in Clarendon hills Illinois and was a member of the unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina at the time of his death.
His employment was entirely with Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company. He joined the company in Chicago as a clerk in 1949 and retired from the company in Oakbrook, Illinois in 1990 as an Executive, Vice President and Corporate Secretary. He was a member of the board of directors for over 20 years continued as a board member until 1993.
He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the order of the arrow. He served in many organizations during his life, and he and Paula have been loyal and active members of the Brevard music center association in 2000.
He and Paul enjoyed 40 years of homecoming with the Wabash college friends, he was part of a group that brought their fraternity Phi Kappa Psi back to Wabash after an absence of over 40 years he was a member of the American Legion and veteran of foreign wars.
The family has requested no flowers, but instead sending memorial donations to the Brevard center or the Unity Presbyterian Church general fund.
