Warren Ramsey Roddenberry, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and community servant, passed away peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on May 17, 1939, in Metcalf, Georgia, he was one of twelve children born to Norwood James Roddenberry and Georgia Leedia Brinson Roddenberry. Warren attended high school in Thomasville, Georgia, and went on to live a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Stiner Roddenberry, and his children: Lisa Freeman, Tonya Humphries, Traci Carnes, and Dan Roddenberry. His legacy continues through his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Warren had 11 brothers and sisters: Connie Sawyer, Helen Rezendes, Lucy McKown, Doc Roddenberry, Brent Roddenberry, Fondren Roddenberry, NJ Roddenberry, Doug Roddenberry, Reggie Roddenberry, Jackie Rogers, and Jimmy Roddenberry. A talented athlete, Warren pursued his passion for baseball in the minor leagues, pitching for teams including the Albany Cardinals (Georgia–Florida League), Keokuk Cardinals (Midwest League), Winnipeg Goldeyes (Northern League), and Raleigh Capitals (Carolina League). After his time in baseball, he found new ways to serve, beginning with the Florida Forestry Department, later becoming a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper and a Traffic Homicide Investigator. His dedication to justice led him to be elected Sheriff of Franklin County, Florida, a role he served honorably for 8 years. Warren was also a proud Mason for 50+ years, serving as a Master Mason and Past Master of the Curfew Lodge and a Shriner, finding deep fellowship and purpose in the organization. Warren was happiest near the water with a fishing pole in hand, enjoying a round of golf, or simply spending time with family. Warren loved watching Atlanta Braves baseball. His laugh was hearty, his heart was generous, and his presence left an impression on all who knew him. Warren will be deeply missed and forever remembered. He now rests peacefully and is reunited in heaven with his beloved son, Roddy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospital or a foundation of your choosing would be appreciated but not necessary, God bless you all. A Celebration of Warren's life will be held at Bevis Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 3:00PM, the family will receive friends for a visitation at 2:00PM. Dayne Parker of Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193 or www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the Roddenberry family with their arrangements.

I want to remember Warren Roddenberry as a friend, neighbor, and a man who truly cared about his community by reminding all the graduates who were able to participate in Carrabelle Grad Night 1980 & after that He was one of the original group of parents that worked tirelessly to create a safe night of fun, music, hourly drawings & a "scholarship" drawing at dawn for those that stayed. The purpose was to gift excited Grads fun, food, music & a reason to keep them off the highway & in a safe place to celebrate. That is just one example of his kindness & dedication to family & community. He had a gift that said "I'm here if you need me, but you don´t want to see me if you mess with my community." He will be remembered. Our heartfelt prayers to his family from the Friday Family.
