Warren was a true gentlemen. It is interesting to see how often that word is used by others to describe him. What a great example and friend.

Since my marriage 19 years ago, Warren Stevens became a household name. Being very much of a "Gentleman", he reinvented the true meaning of "Friendship". He proved his love for his family but developed a friendship circle second to none which expanded through many states and countries. Warren was a most kind, considerate, and sensitive man. He loved antiques and would take a special interest in sharing his knowledge of them with us. He was the type of person you could share your happy moments with or vent your problems to. He was a good listener, gave good advice and the conversations were always held in confidence. He will truly be missed within our hearts forever.

I always enjoyed Uncle Warren's visits to Derby Line. He was a big part of our family and always made time to visit with me. He enjoyed hearing about my dance recitals or my future academic aspirations. I am glad to have been able to share my life with such a wonderful, kind man. During my next dance performance, I know Uncle Warren will be watching me from the stars within the heavens.

I met Warren only a few times when My Aunt and Uncle (Ruby and Giles Wilson) would visit Derby Line. He was such a gentleman. I especially loved the teasing between Joyce Wilson and Warren. He was a lovely older gentleman.

It was a sad day, July 14, 2009 to learn of Warren's passing, and it still is. He was a very dear friend to me and my late husband, Bud. He grew up in Derby Line next door to Bud-they were always good friends. In later years-Warren,Bud and I would socialize. We had great times together and I will always remember them. When Warren moved to Rutland, he would drive to Derby Line to see us. We looked forward to his visits. He was one special person, and I will miss him so very much.

I called him "Uncle Warren". He was childhood friends of my parents and I grew up knowing him when he came to visit Derby Line to see his family. He became a member of our family too! We both shared an interest in antiques and he would love to talk about them. Kindness, compassion, loyality and caring are a few characteristics of him. He love life. He loved people, especially his family and friends. A quote he often used "This too shall pass". He now has passed and there will never be another "Uncle Warren" and I am blessed to have known him and will treasure the memories forever.

I will always remember Uncle Warren as a person filled with years of wisdom and love. He would come to our home a few times a year to spend time with our family. He would treat me like his own niece and I will never forget that. Uncle Warren also fell in love with our family cat, Ernie. We will miss him very much but he will always hold a very special place in our heart.

My memories of Warren are many, linked with my memories of my dear Aunt Alice. I had the pleasure this year of a long chat with Warren, reminiscing about our many barbeques at Furnace Brook, which stirred long-forgotten memories. If there is a hereafter, he is surely now sharing a Scotch with Alice. Well played, my friend.

I will always remember his firm hand shakes and positive attitude. He never failed to recognize a significant event in my life (birthdays, school graduations, getting married, birth of my daughter) with a card. Just remember Warren, the next time we play scrabble, it's spelled "teeth" not "teef". You will be missed.

Warren was the type of person who could relate to anyone he met, no matter what age. He always took an interest in what you were up to and wanted to hear all about it. He just loved people. I will cherish the times we spent in Maine and especially the Adirondacks. He was a true gentleman. We will all miss you Warren.

Though you have now gone to The Lake Isle of Inishfree and we did not get to have that parting glass we will treasure forever the wonderful times we shared and you have enriched our lives immeasureably. We will miss you so much.

My fondest memories of Warren go back to our annual family vacations in the Adirondacks. We all spent time together on the back porch reading, listening to loons, and watching hummingbirds. Warren also loved making puzzles with us and coming along for nature walks and trips to get icecream. He was a devoted and loyal family friend that was always present at family gatherings, and never missed a birthday. We will miss you Warren.

Warren has been a wonderful friend to me for over 25 years. His kindness, soft spokeness, wonderful letters and humor will be solely missed. I know he and Alice are kicking up the clouds and enjoying their reunion. I miss them both.

My memories of Warren go back to the late 1950s and our home on Belmont Ave. in Rutland, Vermont. Warren and my aunt Alice often stopped by with stories of their successful antique searches throughout New England. He was a kind and positive person and made all of our family gatherings and trips more enjoyable. The picture of Warren I will always carry in my mind is him sitting in an Adirondack chair on the porch of our camp on Rainbow Lake wearing blue jeans and a sweater with a glass of Scotch and reading a book. Good bye my friend.

As I think of Warren, words like loyal, steadfast, proper, kind, gracious, appreciative and humble all quicky and easily come to mind. Thank you for your teachings and your friendship, old buddy. God speed.

Warren has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember...always a part of our many family get togethers. I have fond memories of Warren visiting us when we lived in Austin, Texas, joining us for our vacations in Nantucket, Maine and the Adirondacks, and visiting us at our home in Jericho Center. No matter where we were, it was always wonderful having Warren with us. He was such a special person, and I am going to miss him so very much.

Warren has been a family friend since long before I was born. A regular at family gatherings throughout my life. I will always remember the times when he joined us on trips to Maine and the Adirondacks, complete with cocktail hour on the porch, after dinner walks, and evening games of Scrabble, which he most often won... many good memories, he will be missed.

Warren Stevens was one of our family's closest friends for as long as I can remember. I have such fond memories of spending weekends in Rutland with him and my Aunt Alice, and our trips to Ogunquit Maine. When my first child is born next week, I can't wait to share all the stories about one of the finest and most caring people I have ever known. You will be with me always Warren, my dear friend. I love you and miss you.

Warren, the most gentle of gentlemen I have ever met. I am so glad to have known you in my lifetime. Memories at the Sycamore Inn make my heart smile just thinking of the Christmas tree trimming with you and my mom, Mae holds a host of lovingly warm thoughts. I shall miss you dear friend.
