Warren Joy Sum Yuen

Warren J S Yuen, "Jolly", passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the grand age of 94. He was born on October 20,1930 in Honolulu, HI to Esther Ching and Yun Chee Yuen.
Warren graduated from Roosevelt High School when it was known as "English standard" and attended San Francisco City College until he enlisted in the US Air Force and served in Frankfurt, Germany during the Korean War. This is where he met and married Ingeborg "Nina" on December 31, 1955 and returned to Hawaii where they ran the family business Lau Tang Grocery Store in Waianae.
He was an avid tennis player, and was regularly seen on the courts participating in many tournaments around the island. He also enjoyed golf and was always willing to give advice on a golf swing, whether asked or not. Other interests included investing, coin collecting, cooking and constantly joking with everyone he met.
Warren is survived by his daughter Yvette Maskrey, grandson Sean Maskrey, brothers Brad and Dexter Yuen, nieces and nephews and the Gottschalk family in Germany.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 11:00AM at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Hillcrest section. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
